Channel 4 confirms return of popular comedy and shares first look at brand new series

CHANNEL 4 has recommissioned one of its hilarious multi-award-winning comedy dramas for a second season.

The broadcaster has dropped exclusive first-look pics for Jack Rooke’s critically acclaimed show.

Channel 4 has confirmed that its coming-of-age comedy titled Big Boys, created and written by Jack and produced by Roughcut TV, will be making a comeback on TV early next year.

The multi-award-winning and six-time BAFTA-nominated comedy starring Dylan Llewellyn, Jon Pointing, Camille Coduri, Katy Wix, Izuka Hoyle, Olisa Odele, Harriet Webb and Annette Badland was a hit with viewers when it first landed on screens.

The Channel 4 press account announced the news on X(Twitter) with a post that included a gif with several pictures of the cast. 

They tweeted: ‘Brand new series of Big Boys is coming to Channel 4 in January... and lucky for you, we've got a snapshot of what's in store.’

Anticipating show fans quickly replied to the post as one penned: “Yes!!! So happy there is a second season of this. Such an amazing show.”

Another thanked Channel 4 by simply saying: “Thanks very much.”

A third wrote: “Can't wait.”

Season 2 will see the gang entering the second year of Brent University 2014, where they must deal with virginity hang-ups, drug experimentation and Jack’s obsession with Alison Hammond.

While dealing with what life has to offer, the gang must ensure they pass their degrees. 

Jack’s family are still mourning his Dad’s passing while trying to navigate life at the same time.

Speaking about the show, Jack said: “We are finally returning to take you all back to the pre-Brexit era of 2014/2015.

"Where David Cameron wasn’t our foreign secretary, and everyone was happily doing the ice bucket challenge.

"Second year at Brent Uni is bigger and better than before, delving into even more of our uni gangs' japes, scrapes and collective love of Her Royal Highness, Alison Hammond.”

Also involved in Big Boys' production are director Jim Archer, producer Bertie Peek, executive producer Ash Atalla and Alex Smith for Roughcut TV.

Managing Director, Roughcut TV Ash Atalla added: “Big Boys is back for year 2 and time to get serious about studies. 

"No more drinking, partying or sex, this series is all set in the library where we follow our gang reading books.
