Customers are saying 'what's the deal?' after Starbucks for Life contest drops with confusing rules

STARBUCKS is celebrating the anniversary of their annual contest.

It is the tenth year of the Starbucks for Life contest, but customers are experiencing issues.

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS

Every year around the holidays, the coffee giant hosts their Starbucks for Life contest, during which they give away prizes.

The offer sounds pretty sweet, considering that there is no purchase necessary to enter the contest and potentially win prizes.

However, a few X users have taken to social media to express their frustrations over the game.

One user wrote: "Starbucks whats the deal with the Starbucks for life game? Why is no one getting any plays? It doesn't say anywhere on the rules you have to purchase items to get plays."

Another similar complaint reads: "Why do I have zero plays on Starbucks for Life today? I thought they refreshed daily?"

In response to the previous tweet, one user commented: "Apparently those are one time bonus plays and to get a daily shake you have to make a purchase."

This is addressed in the official Starbucks rules for the contest, which states: "Each Entrant will receive one Game play for registering for the Promotion (first visit only)."

Customers are reasonably confused, as in previous years, Starbucks gave one free game play per day.

One customer wrote: "So they’re not doing one free shake every day like they did last year? This is BS."

Another response reads: "They make this game worse every time."

Another user wrote about bugs on the Starbucks app.

"Still waiting on Starbucks for life game to be up and running...the game also was completely wiped from the app and you guys haven’t addressed it publicly at all. Can you guys fix it? I'm not the only one."

STARBUCKS FOR LIFE

Despite its few issues, it's worth a shot to enter the Starbucks for Life contest.

Five lucky winners will receive Starbucks for life, meaning they will receive a daily credit for 30 years for one free Starbucks food or beverage item.

There are three ways to win a prize in the contest but you must have an account to play the game.

To play, you must "shake the globe" as that will get you prizes.

The first way to win is to collect.

Those playing the game must shake the globe and collect three pieces in a row which can earn you a Delta Air Lines gift card, a Moccamaster grinder and custom brewer, a Starbucks + Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler, Bonus Stars, or Starbucks for Life.

The second way allows you to score wins instantly.

You can win some of the prizes immediately by shaking the snow globe to see if you’ve won Bonus Stars or Starbucks Gift Cards.

The third way to win is to enter the sweepstakes, and every entry is another chance to win a $500 Starbucks Gift Card.

In addition to gaining an initial game play by registering for the promotion, there are two ways to earn game play: by making purchases and without making purchases.

The rules may be a bit fuzzy, but you can read the official contest requirements on its website.

You can enter the contest from November 28 through December 31, as long as you are a resident of the US and 18 years of age or older.
